I’ve also recently acquired honghu.ca and that will forward to this website. For simplicity’s sake, and also for branding reasons, this will continue to be my de facto website. Honghu-dot-ca rolls off the tongue a tad faster during networking but honghuwang.ca will continue to serve as my main website. After all, I have hundreds of emails stored on these servers!

As for blogging… well, I’m excited to blog for a few reasons; they all evolve around the myriad of things happening in my life right now. This summer started quite serene but changed quickly. My schedule this summer changed four or five times and as a result, some petty expenses (well, not that petty considering I’m out of a job for the summer–more on that later) could not be recovered. In short, refund policies suck. Consequent of this shuffling was my inability to commit to any shifts at the pool that I staff. So much for summer savings! But for every sour grape is a golden apple right? (Perhaps not–it’s late and I just made that saying up.) Regardless, I’ve gotten around to finally repainting and redecorating my house. This is really more of a thank-you present for my parents for all these years as I’ll be staying on residence for university and as such, will not be able to enjoy the new paint smell as much as my parents.

On top of splashing paint on walls in hopes of Warhol-esque paintings, I’ve stepped up my involvement with Science Expo Youth Empowerment Group, or Science Expo for short. Over the summer transition period, much has to done. In a humble nod to Science Expo’s expansion into other programs, the leadership team has the onus to rewrite every word from scratch. That includes the website; if you do some searching around Google, I’m sure our new beta site can be located. Feel free to give insight!

During all this, I’m also looking forward to spending a week in Algonquin Park completing my Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award. Then comes my NLS recertification. Then I’m getting shipped off to Shad+ at the Richard Ivey School of Business. Fun indeed! Oh, then frosh! Yay!

Speaking of camping, I had the pleasure of attending Engineers Without Borders‘ Regional Retreat for Ontario. More on my experiences there in a later post; this one has gone on far too long and I think my photos are just about ready to be uploaded to this website! Yay!
